Donor Females
Ankony Ann 43W70
We purchased this intensely linebred Emulous donor female at the 1998 Ankony Production Sale. Ann traces 77 times to the original Emulous bull born in 1927. Ann’s production record at Ankony was astounding with an average weaning ratio of 4 at 113 and an average yearling ratio of 3 at 115 in the Nebraska herd with more than 700 registered cows! Dr. Dave Duello, formerly of Ankony, commented in their 1999 fall production sale that Ann may have been the finest cow to have ever walked the pastures at Ankony. In fact, considering her phenotype, production record, longevity and progeny – Ann may be one of the best females anywhere.
Ann’s GeneStar rating is 1 star marbling, 2 star T1 tenderness and 1 star T2 tenderness. In the TenderGene system she is GC GG or a 3 point rating.
